Observing artists as they create

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to sit, listen to & draw one of my favorite pianists. I had so much fun listening to her play some of my favorite tunes on a glorious grand piano. I’ve always loved music and while I never had the opportunity to play any musical instruments I love to watch musicians as they bring music to life. I love the intensity of their vision as they read the music; especially when the expression on their faces shows the delight and connection they feel to a particular piece. I’ve been watching this particular musician for many years and I delight in her talent and the gift of music that she shares with the world around her. (yes, you guessed it—she is my oldest daughter) I’m so blessed.
