I'm prepping for tomorrow's Cedar Rapids Farmer's Market so my days are stretching looooong. I've been treating myself to drawing while watching a bit of Netflix to wind down the day.
My parents used to chide me about how, as a child, I never really watched any TV because I always had my head down drawing. The only time I would look up was for the commercials with their silly little jingles, etc.
It's truly hard to describe just how relaxing it is to draw without preconceived ideas of the outcome of the drawing. In my professional life as an illustrator I do enjoy following the parameters of usage, size, manuscripts, deadlines... But *this type of creating is the kind that fills my creative well so I can accomplish all the tasks in my business of being an illustrator/printmaker.
