I love how the quiet/low profile nature of a kayak allows one to be in the presence of wild creatures—without disturbing them.
This drawing is my interpretation of my experience yesterday: the graceful quality of the arms of the trees reaching out into the water while turtles sunbathed on old stumps. The birds singing and flitting out from the shoreline. So darn amazing. I'm glad I didn't have a camera to "capture" it all. It made me focus in on all that beauty more closely. (Note to self: get out of the studio more often!!!)
