Sometimes when I was assigned illustration assignments I would tuck people from my life into the paintings. For this particular assignment from The Baltimore Sun ---about gathering to give thanks, I decided to add my brother Russ (in the aqua shirt) with me across from him in the salmon pink. Just my silly imagination at work---picturing a feeling, a place and then painting it.
The other day while going through my archival boxes of my illustrations from across the decades a HUGE wave of gratitude swept over me. I am soooo thankful for all these years of a career of illustration & printmaking---of all the challenges, the growth and the peace that comes from creating.
In this new year I hope to challenge myself to learn how to knit.
Wish me luck because I am clumsy as all get out with 3D creations!
Happy Holidays to all!
